We are delighted to announce the very worthy winner of our Partner CSR Summer Initiative
In June 2021 we were delighted to launch our partner CSR summer sunflower initiative. As a team we wanted to introduce a summer challenge that would be fun and engaging for our Brokers and also give back to the community through charity fundraising. During the summer we love to get into the great outdoors and into our gardens, whether it is to do some gardening or simple relax and enjoy the beautiful flowers and birds singing. Thankfully this summer we were lucky to have some long spells of sun which definitely helped lift the mood!
At Prestige Underwriting one of our favourite flowers is the sunflower, and what’s not to love? Sunflowers symbolise loyalty and are well known for being a happy flower. True to our brand strapline we believe ‘Partnership is the Best Policy’ and live by this daily, it is at the core of everything we do. The sunflower was therefore the perfect match for us, a lovely bright bloom to lift everyone’s mood and so the Summer Sunflower competition was born!
Launched via an email campaign to our broker network, over 70 of our brokers across Northern Ireland, Ireland and UK signed up to receive a free sunflower seed gift pack, complete with easy-to-follow instruction for planting from our very own gardening guru Elaine Dixon!
Throughout the summer period participants were challenged with the task to grow the tallest sunflower for the chance to win a donation of £/€200 to a charity of their choice. The participant with the tallest sunflower in CMs on 3rd September was awarded the winning title.
We have been blown away by the very statuesque, tall, beautifully flowered sunflower images we have received. There was however one outstanding sunflower soaring to a height of 291CMs at the time of the competition closing date! This was without doubt an award-winning sunflower and the tallest sunflower recorded during the competition period. The very worthy winner was Maeve Cavanagh from Cavanagh Hooper Dolan Insurance. Below is a photo of Maeve’s sunflower.
Maeve has won a €200 donation to a charity of her choice, which she has very kindly donated to iCare in Buncrana, Co. Donegal. iCARE is a local parent-run organisation which provides respite, training, support and information for families who have children with autism from the Inishowen region of Donegal. This is an extremely good cause and a charity which does so much for local families from support, care and training.
